What a fabulous shot, I wonder if this appliance is still in existence…

I know there is still a foam tender at the old ICI site, but unsure whether it is a Teesside Emergency Services one…

Please check out my site @; http://fireenginefotos.fotopic.net/

Thanks James Stoker

Sorry, I've no info on the type of camera mount fitted at the time of this photo, other than 32xdaylight camera with FLIR.

This vehicle was formerly in use with Cleveland Fire Brigade as a Fire safety Support Unit, I have a picture of it with this Brigade, at the Preston Park Fire Engine Rally in Stockton on Tees, taken in July 98.

Cleveland SRT purchased this from Cleveland Fire where they were planning to use it as a Command Unit, however it is believed it never went on the run as such.

This vehicle was acquired by Cleveland Fire Brigade in March 97, from a company called Laser Care who are from Harrogate, where it was a mobile Skin Laser Clinic. The Brigade converted it during 1997 to a Fire Safety Support Unit, it could also be used if required, as an Emergency Incident Fire Support Unit, but was never used as such. It was replaced by a new Community Safety Unit in 2002, and was further converted to a Fireground Feeding Unit (Canteen Van?) but again was never used, it was disposed of in 2003. Cleveland's current Control Unit based at Stranton in Hartlepool is H49KVN a Dennis DFS, itself converted from a former ET, it has just been repainted into a new dark red livery, thus ensuring it's future for somewhile yet.

This MK10E was initially delivered and operated at RAF Wittering in 1992, from new. She was rolled on the ring road and badly damaged some 3 weeks after delivery. She was returned (I collected her and drove her back from Carmicheal - Worcester) after repair. I put the '222 phone' and white stripes on her body. '74' as she was known attended many aircraft, RTA & domestic calls whilst at Wittering. She also featured in a special diary for Princess Diana who was Patron of Wittering. Dont quote me, but during Op Fresco (Merseyside Strikes) a number of the RAF Boulmer lads depolyed to RAF Wittering as back fill. They too served on '74', and it is my suspicion that this photo was taken at Wittering and not Boulmer, as I don't recall her ever being depolyed there? The vehcile looks new on the photo, just unable to see whats in the background, then I would know for sure. I made a number of good mates from Boulmer, and this is purely to give some history on MK10 E 11 AY 74. Ex Wittering. Paul Ferguson Ex RAF Fire Service.

Hi Paul Most definitely photographed at Boulmer - just down the slope from the fire station. Only been to Wittering once, when it was Mk9s and TACR2s, including one in camo. Iain
